Bren Cukier is a Polish-American writer and director whose debut narrative short film THURSDAY screened at festivals worldwide and was nominated for Festiwal Polskich Filmów Fabularnych, considered the Polish equivalent of the Oscars.
Her more recent short LAST RESORT had its online premiere on Short of the Week and was subsequently awarded Best Doc Short of the Year in 2026.
Currently residing in Los Angeles, Bren blends documentary perspective with narrative filmmaking, marrying her experience in fashion and art photography to fully encapsulate nuanced portraits of complex characters.
Her work has been featured by platforms including NOWNESS, VOGUE, NoBudge, Short of the Week, DoBeDo, GLAMOUR, ELLE, Directors Notes and Film Shortage.
Bren was featured as one of 5 Female Directors Shaping Polish Cinema by VOGUE Poland and is currently in development on her debut feature, which will be an American-Polish co-production.
